International Paper is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Cambridge, MD, with a salary range of $75,800 – $101,000. The role involves leading a maintenance team, ensuring safety and quality in repairs, managing daily tasks, and engaging with operations. Candidates should have a high school diploma, technical training preferred, and at least 5 years of maintenance leadership experience. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
Job Description Position Title: Maintenance Supervisor Pay Rate: $75,800 – 101,000 (PL10) Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan. Category/Shift: Salaried / Full-Time Physical Location: 903 Woods Road Cambridge, MD 21613 The Job You Will Perform: We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter with a positive can-do attitude willing to lead the Maintenance team comprised of electrical and mechanical skilled trades, with the ability to adapt and overcome in a fast paced manufacturing environment with a constant vigilance to maintain safety and quality of all workmanship. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Overall daily responsibility for the safety of the people and correct repairs of the plant’s assets. Manage daily permits, inductions, etc… Set the daily priorities for the Maintenance team by organizing, dispatching and delegating the work to the maintenance technicians.Follow up to ensure work was completed at a high standard. Attend all site related meetings pertaining to departmental and operational requirements. Effective decision making with respect to the cost of repairs. Strive to find better and more efficient ways of repairing and maintaining machinery. Ensure that we follow the site rules and regulations. Actively engage with the operations team to develop a team approach to effective maintenance. Coach, mentor, develop and set goals for our Maintenance Technicians to realize their full potential. Provide weekend and after-hours coverage as needed. Assist with the ordering of machine parts needed to ensure parts being requested are correct while assisting with parts management inventory. Assist with the implementation of capital and safety project work. The Skills You Will Bring: High school diploma or GED required; Technical degree, trade school or military training preferred Minimum 5 years in a position of maintenance leadership Working knowledge of 480 VAC three phase electricity Working knowledge of steam boiler and ancillary equipment Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, SAP or other maintenance-based software system Good communication skills Well organized with an attention to detail approach Safety minded and team-oriented Positive can-do attitude and willingness to adapt Industrial Maintenance experience that includes mechanical, electrical & automation equipment.
