Salary: $52,894.40 - $74,214.40 Per Year*

*This includes a 7.33% Salary Adjustment.

Brief Job Description: This position conducts licensing, compliance, investigative, and assistance work related to agronomic utilization and beneficial use activities as well as composting, anaerobic digestion, septage and sludge management, solid waste storage, and solid waste processing facilities.

Responsibilities:Reviewing and processing license applications.Conducting compliance inspections and routine fieldwork.Providing regulatory and technical assistance.Investigating complaints and managing enforcement actions.Attending meetings and presenting information in public settings.This position combines office work and field activity. The position collaborates with staff throughout the Department to determine corrective actions, establish preventative measures, and achieve environmental compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:A six (6) year combination of education and/or experience in environmental, biological, physical science, or engineering which includes two (2) years of environmental experience. Qualifying education must include at least 15 credit hours of science or engineering coursework from an accredited educational institution.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience in environmental assessment and remediation.Knowledge of agronomy, soil science, composting, and anaerobic digestion.Experience reviewing applications and data under local, state, or federal requirements.Ability to direct project teams and work well within a team environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in the transfer of technical information to a non-technical audience.Ability to identify and resolve problems independently.Demonstrated organizational skills.Benefits:Work-Life Balance – Rest is essential.
