Our client, a prominent manufacturing facility, is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee EHS programs in Boise, Idaho, US . This key role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS strategies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment and compliance with all environmental regulations. The Senior EHS Manager will lead efforts in risk assessment, hazard control, safety training, emergency preparedness, and environmental stewardship. Responsibilities include developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety audits and inspections, investigating incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions, and managing environmental compliance programs (e.g., waste management, emissions control, water discharge). The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization. You will work closely with all levels of staff, from senior management to frontline employees, to promote best practices and ensure adherence to EHS standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.). Conduct regular EHS risk assessments, audits, and inspections of facilities and operations. Develop and deliver effective EHS training programs to employees at all levels. Investigate all workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Manage and oversee environmental permits and reporting requirements (air, water, waste). Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans. Promote a strong safety culture and engage employees in EHS initiatives. Advise management on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices. Manage the company's hazardous waste program and ensure proper disposal. Track and report on EHS performance metrics. Stay current with evolving EHS regulations and industry trends. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Environmental Health and Safety management, preferably within a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and other relevant EHS legislation. Proven experience in developing and implementing successful EHS programs. Strong understanding of industrial hygiene principles and practices. Experience with environmental permitting and compliance reporting. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach. Ability to train and motivate employees on safety procedures. Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies. Relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are highly desirable. Join a company committed to safety and sustainability.
