About the position

The position oversees Delaware's waterfowl and other migratory gamebird populations through species-specific research and monitoring programs. It involves collecting, analyzing, and presenting harvest data, designing and implementing research and management projects, and reviewing and developing regulations concerning the management of migratory gamebirds in Delaware. The role also includes conveying research findings through reports and presentations, as well as representing the Division on various state and regional committees.

Responsibilities
• Oversee Delaware's waterfowl and migratory gamebird populations through research and monitoring programs.

• Collect, analyze, and present harvest data.

• Design and implement research and management projects.

• Review and develop regulations for migratory gamebirds in Delaware.

• Prepare technical reports and enforcement case documents.

• Respond to technical and regulatory inquiries from various agencies and organizations.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Life, Physical, or Applied Science or related field.

• Six months experience in environmental or natural resources project management.

• Two years' experience in analyzing and evaluating scientific data.

• Two years' experience in interpreting environmental laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.

• Six months experience in using an automated information system for data management.

• Six months experience in technical report writing.

Nice-to-haves
• Master's degree or higher in wildlife biology or closely related field.
