Boardwalk Pipeline Partners is seeking an Associate Field Technician, Field Tech, or Senior Field Tech for their Bastrop, LA office. The role involves daily operations and maintenance tasks related to pipeline activities, ensuring environmental health and safety, and compliance with regulations. Candidates must live within 30 miles of the facility and have 1 to 5 years of experience in gas pipeline operations or a related field.

We are currently looking for an Associate Field Tech, Field Tech, or Senior Field Tech. for our Bastrop, LA office. POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for carrying out daily operations & maintenance tasks associated with pipeline activities and assisting with operations and maintenance of Texas Gas’s Bastrop and Guthrie Compressor Station facilities located in the Bastrop and Sterlington, Louisiana area. This position will be responsible for environmental health & safety and reliability for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system. Specific duties will consist of, but are not limited to, reading rectifiers, valve inspection and maintenance, tank gauging, pipeline locating, pipeline patrolling, gas sampling, one-calls, preventive pipeline maintenance and operations related to meter station, valve site and right of way maintenance, gas quality monitoring and assisting with construction and repairs of pipelines and associated facilities. The compressor facilities include (1) turbine unit, associated auxiliary equipment, and control equipment. This position may occasionally be required to assist at other nearby areas. This position will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, as well as emergency response. This position is also responsible for regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures associated with DOT, industry standards, manufacturer, and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances. This position will be expected to respond to call-outs and will be part of the on-call rotation related to pipeline and compression and for responding to emergencies or abnormal situations. The successful candidate will be required to live within 30 miles of the Texas Gas Bastrop Area Office located in Bastrop, LA. in order to respond to callouts expediently. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: 1 to 5 years of gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical / oil industry experience. Excellent verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and a history of safe work are required. Ability to work outside in hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments and ability to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs and ladders. Ability to utilize a PC and manage a filing system. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet. Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns. Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record, and the ability to pass auditory and optic exams PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: 3 (plus) years of gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience. Natural gas compression experience.
