Job Description

Partner Engineering and Science is seeking an Energy Engineer II in Pasadena, CA. The role involves conducting energy audits, feasibility analyses for renewable energy projects, and managing project portfolios. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Engineering, 3 years of experience in energy efficiency, and proficiency in energy modeling software. Strong organizational and communication skills are required. The position includes 25% travel and is not remote.

SUMMARY

The Energy Engineer II will perform all aspects of facility surveys, commissioning studies, energy analysis and energy modeling as part of an energy consulting team. The successful candidate will work with associates and management to pursue and execute engineering and technical projects involving the analysis, verification, design, and implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with engineering staff to conduct level I, II, III energy audits per ASHRAE standards as well as whole-building energy modeling of multiple asset typesConduct feasibility analyses of renewable energy generation projects for real estate applicationsWrite, review, and edit technical reportsPerform field inspections and observe/perform functional performance testsProject Management:Begin to mange a small portfolio of projects on time, on budget, and with technical proficiency;Ensure the technical quality, accuracy, and managerial aspects of projectsPlan project activities, update project forecasts, and maintain accurate records of project milestonesCommunicate project budget, check hours booked, provide task training, oversight, and QCAssist with project invoicing, forecasting, and other project management tasksAttend internal and external meetings as requiredReview contractor submittalsIdentify and communicate project staffing needs Report project % completeMaintain target utilization rateAdhere to all company policies and procedures and company mission, vision and valuesTimely response to client e-mail and phone messagesWork effectively with both internal project teams and external clients
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Highly organized with excellent communication skillsMust be able to read, write, speak & comprehend EnglishExcellent math and problem solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to work both independently and in a team environmentExcellent organizational skills; and,Demonstrated competence in technical subject matterThorough knowledge of building automation systems, building envelope, and lighting systems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors' Degree in Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in energy efficiency and /or performance contracting, or Master's degree in Engineering and 1 years of related experienceEngineer in Training (EIT) is a plus1 years of experience using energy modeling programs such as eQuest, EnergyPro and/or Energy Plus1 years of experience conducting energy analyses of building systems, including HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, variable speed drive applicationsPrior client and project management experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screenTravel 25%Ability to climb ladders and stairsAbility to work outdoors and in unconditioned mechanical rooms on occasion
Compensation:

Salary range is $80,000 - $115,000 This is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role.

The pay scale for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note, the disclosed pay scale estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location where the position may be filled. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive bonus program which is dependent on various factors, including, but not limited to, individual and organizational performance.
