About the Role

The Country Head - Factory General Manager (Garment Manufacturing) will oversee and manage all aspects of garment production facilities in Bangladesh. This role requires strong leadership to ensure operational excellence, optimize production processes, maintain high-quality standards, achieve financial objectives, and comply with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will drive factory success while fostering a sustainable and ethical manufacturing environment to meet global market demands.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership to factory operations, aligning efforts with global business goals and objectives.
• Drive production planning, workflow optimization, and overall efficiency within garment manufacturing facilities.
• Ensure seamless adherence to production schedules, budgets, and high-quality standards to meet buyer expectations.
• Implement global garment quality assurance measures and continuously improve processes to reduce defects and enhance product durability.
• Oversee supply chain management, ensuring timely procurement of materials and effective coordination with vendors.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms for cost-effective and consistent material sourcing.
• Ensure compliance with local labor laws, environmental regulations, and key international standards in garment manufacturing.
• Promote ethical practices and sustainability initiatives, including social compliance audits and certifications to enhance buyer partnerships.
• Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization strategies.
• Identify opportunities for improving profitability and monitor overall factory P&L performance.
• Lead factory teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that drives high performance.
• Develop comprehensive training programs to enhance employee skills and incorporate modern manufacturing technologies.
• Build a strong leadership pipeline, developing managers and promoting best practices in operational management.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Manufacturing, Textile Engineering, Business Management, or related fields.
• MBA or postgraduate qualifications are preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in garment manufacturing, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Bangladesh’s textile/garment industry and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven track record of working effectively with international buyers and stakeholders.
