Responsibilities
• Implement the fisheries management plan including population sampling, water quality testing, and aquatic vegetation control.

• Plant and maintain wildlife food plots using appropriate equipment.
,
• Conduct population surveys and habitat management for game birds.
,
• Monitor white-tailed deer populations and manage deer check stations twice a year.
,
• Conduct forest prescriptions to improve game species habitat.
,
• Assist in the removal and treatment of nuisance and invasive species.
,
• Support other program areas as necessary, including non-game and endangered species.
Requirements
• High School Diploma.
,
• Experience working with wildlife.
,
• Experience conducting fieldwork and accurately recording data.
,
• Proficiency in using field data collection applications, compasses, maps, data tablets, and GPS units.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
,
• Ability to walk several consecutive miles carrying light gear of up to 30 pounds in adverse weather and rugged terrain.
,
• Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one by employment start date.
,
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date.
Nice-to-haves
• Bachelor's degree in wildlife management, botany, horticulture, biology, ecology, or a closely related science.

• 1+ years of experience with wildlife management or natural resource management.
,
• 1+ years of fieldwork experience with wildlife.
,
• Experience with GPS and GIS technologies.
,
• Experience working on a military installation and familiarity with DoD/Army environmental regulations.
,
• Experience working at Fort Johnson and in Southern ecosystems.
