We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Wetland Ecologist to join our team and contribute to our mission of sustainable land management. As a Wetland Ecologist at Tetra Tech, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of wetland projects, from restoration and mitigation to monitoring and assessment. Conduct wetland assessments and surveys to determine the health and condition of wetland ecosystems.
Develop and implement wetland restoration and mitigation plans in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct fieldwork, including vegetation and wildlife surveys, water quality sampling, and soil sampling.
Analyze data and prepare reports detailing findings and recommendations for wetland management.
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure successful and timely completion of wetland projects.
Stay up-to-date on current wetland regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance in all project work.
Participate in public outreach and education initiatives to promote the importance of wetland conservation.
Utilize GIS and other mapping software to create wetland maps and track project data.
Mentor and train junior staff members on wetland ecology principles and field techniques.
Represent Tetra Tech at meetings and conferences to present findings and network with other professionals in the field.
Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while conducting fieldwork.
Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth within the field of wetland ecology.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the wetland ecology team.
Act as a steward for the environment and strive to make a positive impact on the natural resources we work to protect.
