Job Description:

LT Leon Associates is currently seeking to hire a full-time Water Resources Engineer-in-

Training (EIT) to join our team. This position will report to a Project Manager and contribute to

the design, development, and execution of engineering projects. This role involves collaborating

with internal and external stakeholders, assisting with design and drafting, conducting fieldwork,

and supporting project administration. The EIT will work on projects requiring hydrology,

hydraulics, and environmental restoration while working on projects including but not limited to

rivers/streams, wetlands, dam mitigation, water trails, abandoned mine reclamation,

transportation, conservation, and site planning.

The ideal person for this position is self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects, and can

prioritize projects based on deadlines and importance. Collaboration, coordination and strong

communication skills are a must.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Assist in the design and analysis of engineering projects, applying industry-standard

techniques and procedures.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Support construction administration, including site visits, field observation, and

documentation.
• Conduct research and assist in preparing technical reports, proposals, and permit

applications.
• Participate in project meetings, engaging with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support stormwater management,

floodplain analysis, and watershed planning.
• Conduct quality control and quality assurance on all assigned portions of projects.
• Assist in materials testing, survey activities, and field data collection.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, ethical codes, and industry best

practices.
• Occasional travel for project meetings, professional conferences, training and quality

assurance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Agricultural, Biosystems, or Environmental Engineering from

an accredited institution.
• Possess EIT certification or be able to acquire in 6 months.

Skills:
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting processes.
• Familiarity with software such as Civil 3D, MicroStation/Geopak, and ArcGIS.
