Job Description
The U.S. Green Building Council seeks a WELL Certification Reviewer to ensure compliance with the WELL Building Standard, guiding project teams and improving certification processes. Responsibilities include performing technical reviews, providing customer support, conducting quality control, and mentoring fellow reviewers. Candidates should have over 5 years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and LEED AP or WELL AP certification. The position is remote, allowing for collaboration from anywhere.

How You’ll Add-Value
As a WELL Certification Reviewer , you will play a critical role in advancing healthy and sustainable buildings by ensuring compliance with the WELL Building Standard. Your expertise will guide project teams, improve certification processes, and uphold the integrity of GBCI’s certification programs.
As Part Of The USGBC Team, You Will
• Contribute to mission-driven work that supports human health and sustainable building practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance certification quality and efficiency.
• Educate and empower industry professionals through clear, technical guidance.
• Help shape the future of WELL certification by refining policies and processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform in-depth technical reviews of building design, construction, and operations for compliance with the WELL Building Standard.
• Communicate technical requirements effectively through written reports, verbal consultations, and customer service support.
• Conduct quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) reviews of work by other reviewers and WELL Performance Testing Agents.
• Support the professional development of fellow reviewers through knowledge sharing and mentorship.
• Assist in refining certification processes, policies, and reference materials.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams, including IWBI standard development and GBCI Credentialing.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging issues, and advancements in building health and sustainability.
Must-Have Qualifications
• 5+ years of direct professional experience in a relevant specialty (e.g., building design, environmental testing, facility management).
• Ability to interpret building plans, specifications, and operational policies.
• Technical expertise in HVAC, lighting, materials, environmental testing, or building commissioning.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing.
• LEED AP or WELL AP (required within 6 months of hire).
• Professional licensure or certifications in a related field (preferred).
Education
Bachelor’s degree ( Master’s preferred) in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Building Operations, Environmental Science, or Health Science OR equivalent professional experience.
