As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Technician to join our Environmental Science Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.

We are looking for a reliable, motivated and committed Technician to join our Environmental Chemistry team. It is essential that you are able to work efficiently and independently, as well as contributing well as part of a wider team. While you may perform the same array of tests day to day, the projects you support will constantly change.
Responsibilities
• Weigh, split, prepare and extract samples in line with Standard Operating Procedures
• Maintain good laboratory practice at all times, following methods, standard operating procedures, local rules and regulations, maintaining equipment and safe working procedures
• Be aware of and conform to the Laboratory Quality system, specifically UKAS (ISO17025) and MCERTS requirements
• Project a professional, courteous image and support the business culture and codes of practice at all times
Qualifications
• Good communication at all levels with strong organisational skills
• A motivation to learn team-based systems and take ownership of objectives
• Experience of working in a high pressure, production driven environment
• Client focus and a drive for quality
About Environmental Chemistry

Our Environmental Chemistry department specialises in the testing and analysis of soils, waters, leachates, effluents, industrial wastes, and marine sediments from our accredited laboratories in Burton‑on‑Trent. Operating from state‑of‑the‑art laboratories holding ISO27025 and MCERTS accreditations, we meet the standards that our clients require. We are passionate about providing a high‑quality, reliable, and flexible service.
