RideWise Inc. is hiring a full-time Sustainable Transportation Coordinator & Data Specialist in Somerville, NJ. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and managing data related to sustainable travel, including biking and walking. Responsibilities include data analysis, community assessments, and collaboration with local governments. RideWise Inc., a Somerville nonprofit dedicated to promoting safe and sustainable travel, is excited to announce an opening for a full-time Sustainable Transportation Coordinator & Data Specialist. This grant-funded role provides an opportunity to work on meaningful projects and programs that support bicycling, walking, transit use, and clean air. The position also involves collecting, analyzing, and managing program data related to bicycles, pedestrians, transit, air quality, and demographics to support agency programming and decision-making. This is not an IT role.
Responsibilities include:
Research and collection of data
Data analysis, reporting, and visualization using mapping/ArcGis
Install portable speed sentry and collect/analyze the data.
Install portable air quality monitor and collect/analyze the data.
Conduct community safety assessments for walking and biking
Collaborate with municipal and county governments to support EV charging/installation
Collaborate with municipal and county governments on safely integrating micromobility vehicles
Guide local government on the education and adoption of Complete/Livable Streets
Work schedule:
This full-time, hourly role is based at the Somerville office, Monday to Friday. Overtime is not required. Scheduling is flexible as long as most work is performed during standard office hours.

Essential skills:
We are seeking an individual who is passionate about sustainable transportation. The ideal candidate is skilled in organizing, planning, and independently managing multiple tasks and priorities. Essential skills for this role include:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MSTeams)
Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS)
Strong organizational, analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in database management – Excel or Microsoft Access
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively translate complex data into understandable reports and recommendations for funders and stakeholders.
A bachelor's degree in a related field such as transportation planning, statistics, data science, mathematics, or computer science (this is not an IT role).
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across inter-departmental teams e.g. marketing, project/program specialists)
Managing projects with minimal supervision and tight deadlines
Excellent data analysis skills; the ability to translate data into uncomplicated terms
Having a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, valid vehicle insurance, and good driving record to get to/from the office and for travel and fieldwork throughout Somerset County.
Being able to lift 25 pounds (to transport equipment, program materials)
Nonprofit experience is a plus
Familiarity with Somerset County a plus
