Job Description

Pella Corporation is seeking a Sustainability Intern for Summer 2025 in Pella, IA. The intern will support departmental functions, assist in developing strategies, and participate in special projects. Responsibilities include performing tasks assigned by the manager and engaging in daily operations. Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor's degree and possess basic computer skills. This position is onsite and does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to provide proactive services as appropriate to support the department functions. The incumbent must strive to understand the business and factors of success in the industry. With that base of understanding, this person will assist in the development of strategies and programs that drive and support the organization and will seek to continuously improve those strategies and programs through feedback and effective measurements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Performs tasks as assigned by the manager to support the department objectives.
• Special projects will be assigned as required.
• Will become an intricate part of the department’s daily operation.
• Will experience “real world” activities.
• Duties will be assigned the same as to full time members of the department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Working toward a bachelor’s degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university;

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Word, Excel and Power Point.
