Environmental Consultant Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our team at Evergy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of air quality regulations, experience in analyzing complex technical information, and excellent communication skills. This individual will be responsible for reviewing emissions data, preparing compliance reports, and collaborating with plant staff to ensure compliance with Operating Permits and obtain necessary construction permits and approvals.
Responsibilities:
• Supporting air quality compliance for assigned generating station locations.
• Oversight of continuous emissions monitoring data and associated reporting.
• Annual criteria pollutant and greenhouse gas inventory preparation and submittal.
• Evaluating construction and operating permit applications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborating with plant environmental compliance coordinators to ensure compliance with permit terms and conditions.
Requirements:
The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in sciences, engineering, or a related technical field from an ABET accredited program. At least five years of relevant experience dealing with air quality regulations, preferably those regulations directly related to electrical generating power plants, is desired. Advanced problem-solving skills, including the ability to research technical and complex regulatory issues, analyze impacts, and provide constructive feedback, are essential. Additionally, working knowledge of State and Federal air quality regulations, ability to perform emission calculations, and excellent organizational skills are required.
