Sustainability & Climate (Education) Manager

Green Yatra is seeking a Sustainability & Climate (Education) Manager in Maharashtra, India. The role involves designing educational programs on sustainability, engaging with communities and stakeholders, conducting training sessions, and creating content on climate-related topics. Candidates should have an M.Sc. in a relevant field, 4-7 years of experience, and strong communication and organizational skills. This position is based in Mumbai and is not remote.

A. Location: Mumbai

B. Qualification: M.Sc. in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field

C. Experience: 4 to 7 years

D. Desirable Skills:
• Meeting corporates clients, Govt. officials, volunteers’ groups for project development.
• Leading carbon, water, energy, waste audit projects which will include gathering data

on-site, analysis and calculation, report writing and presenting the same to clients etc.
• Conducting research and making presentations on various environmental topics and

presenting the same.
• Forward thinking and creative problem solving skills.
• Effective communication, calculation and pitch potential value.
• Knowledge of MS Office, G suite and software enabled research technologies.

E. Roles and Responsibilities:

Design and implement educational programs and workshops on climate change, sustainability,
and environmental conservation.

Develop curricula, lesson plans, and resource materials tailored for different age groups and
audiences.
• Community Engagement:

Collaborate with schools, colleges, and community groups to promote climate literacy and
sustainability practices.

Organize outreach events, campaigns, and awareness drives to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Training and Facilitation:

Conduct training sessions for educators, volunteers, and community leaders on sustainability
and climate-related topics. Facilitate interactive sessions, such as hands-on activities, field
trips, and discussions, to inspire action.
• Coordination with Stakeholders:

Collaborate with respective government departments, NGOs, corporates, and non-
governmental organizations to plan and execute sustainability initiatives.

Ensure alignment of projects with stakeholders’ objectives and compliance with relevant
policies.
• Research and Content Creation:

Stay updated on the latest sustainability trends, climate science, and policy developments to
ensure accurate and relevant content.

Create engaging content for presentations, reports, social media, and publications to raise
awareness.
• Monitoring and Evaluation:

Assess the impact of sustainability programs through feedback and data collection.

Provide recommendations for improving outreach and educational strategies based on
evaluation results.
• Collaboration and Partnerships:

Build partnerships with environmental organizations, corporates, and government bodies to
secure resources, funding, and support for initiatives.

Align sustainability efforts with broader environmental and social impact goals.
• Advocacy and Awareness:

Act as a spokesperson for sustainability programs, promoting behavioral changes and
sustainable practices among communities. Organize campaigns to highlight critical
environmental and climate issues and inspire community participation.
• Event Coordination:

Plan and manage events like climate fairs, sustainability workshops, or public forums to amplify
sustainability efforts.

Ensure smooth execution by coordinating logistics, speakers, and participants.
• Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of activities, program outcomes, and success stories.

Prepare reports and presentations to showcase the progress and impact of initiatives to
stakeholders.
• Capacity Building:

Mentor and guide interns, volunteers, and team members involved in sustainability initiatives.

Support schools, organizations, and departments in integrating sustainability education and
practices into their regular programs.
• Project Management:

Coordinate with diverse stakeholders to ensure timely implementation and completion of
sustainability projects. Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules efficiently. By
incorporating both school-level and broader stakeholder engagement, this role ensures the
effective execution of sustainability initiatives across multiple sectors.
