Job Description
UHS is hiring a full-time Supervisor for Environmental Services at the new Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center in Washington, DC, opening in 2025. Responsibilities include supervising Environmental Services Workers, managing cleaning operations in patient areas, and serving as the main contact for EVS-related issues. Responsibilities
Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center – Opening in 2025!
When open in early 2025, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community.
This full-service hospital will include 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage and a helipad for emergency transport.
We are seeking a Supervisor, Environmental Services (EVS) (Full Time)
Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the supervision of our Environmental Services Workers and oversee work in patient rooms, nursing areas, public and private restrooms, public areas, linen services, trash and hazardous waste disposal, floor care, work order requests, and special projects. This supervisor also serves as the liaison and first point of contact for all internal and external issues related to the EVS operations and services provided to patients, staff, and visitors, in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.

Qualifications
Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must complete Hazardous Materials Training for Generators within 60 Days of hire
• At least one (1) years of leadership experience; leadership in an Environmental Services position preferred
• Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred
• Experience using LEAN or other similar performance improvement methods to transform operations preferred
Skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills Strategic planning skills
• Ability and experience to interact as a business partner to other departments and executives within the hospital and with external customers/partners
