Job Description
The University of New England is seeking a Subject Matter Expert and Adjunct Faculty for Environmental Economics and Practical Accounting for their online Master of Science in Climate Change Leadership program. The role involves course development and instruction for online students, ensuring adherence to program standards. The position requires collaboration with the Instructional Design Team and aims to foster a positive learning environment for students. Salary ranges from $36K to $60K annually.
Subject Matter Expert & Adjunct Faculty – Environmental Economics and Practical Accounting for Master of Science in Climate Change Leadership
Subject matter experts (SMEs) within the College of Professional Studies (CPS) are critical to the success of UNE’s online programs. SMEs work closely with a member of the UNE Instructional Design Team who serves as the project manager, facilitates the development of the course, and ensures that pedagogy and content meet program expectations. SMEs receive supervision and guidance from the Master of Climate Change Leadership (CCL) Program and must work with Instructional Design to meet deliverable deadlines set by CPS. The role of the SME in CPS course development is to help design a graduate level course(s) for online students using best practices for online education that are aligned to program learning outcomes and can be delivered by instructors other than/in addition to the SME.
Adjunct Faculty within the College of Professional Studies (CPS) are critical to the success of UNE’s online programs. The role of the faculty in CPS is to facilitate the learning process for online students through timely and effective instruction and communication. Instructors also serve as mentors, sharing their experience to help guide students and ensure they achieve their educational and professional goals. The faculty facilitates the retention of students through creating a positive educational environment, allowing for students to derive the maximum benefits from the program in which they are enrolled. Instructors will receive supervision, collaboration, and guidance from the UNE Online Master of Climate Change Leadership (CCL) Program.
