Job Description

The Citizens Bank is hiring a Special Assets Specialist in Batesville, AR. This onsite role involves supporting the Special Assets department by managing loan documentation, handling accounts of deceased customers, processing mortgage applications, coordinating with internal teams, and maintaining accurate records. We are seeking a detail‑oriented, dependable Special Assets Specialist to join our team and help protect the Bank's assets while delivering the high‑quality service our customers expect. This onsite position will allow you to collaborate with our amazing teams and can be officed in one of our locations in Central, Northwest, North Central, or South-Central Arkansas.

What You'll Do
• Support the daily tasks and administration of the Special Assets department utilizing multiple bank software systems and tools.
• Gather, organize, and maintain loan, collateral, and legal documentation to assist internal departments and external legal partners.
• Assist in managing loans and accounts of deceased customers, including probate monitoring and file upkeep.
• Process Residential Mortgage Loss Mitigation applications and support proper implementation of approved procedures.
• Coordinate with internal teams to verify collateral taxes/insurance and assist with insurance claims when needed.
• Receive, review, and process bankruptcy notices; maintain filings; properly apply trustee payments.
• Contact certain past‑due borrowers to obtain payments and bring loans current in compliance with bank policies.
• Coordinate the order of repossessions, appraisals, title work, and collateral sales; calculate surplus/deficiency balances.
• Prepare and send borrower communication.
• Track and report charged‑off loans, judgments, litigation matters, and bankruptcies.
• Facilitate collection efforts on charged‑off accounts.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, notes, and workflow updates across all systems.
• Assist with lien releases and related documents.
• Review vendor invoices for accuracy and route for approval.

What We're Looking For
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Solid communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficient math skills such as calculating interest, balancing accounts, interpretation of graphs and charts, and basic arithmetic.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with or ability to learn banking systems.
• Experience in banking, collections, lending, paralegal work, or similar fields preferred.
