Solar Gain Inc. is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support the execution of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar energy projects across California and Arizona. This role plays a critical part in ensuring technical, operational, and administrative excellence from pre-construction through commissioning.

As a key member of our project delivery team, you’ll serve as a bridge between field operations, engineering, and internal/external stakeholders—bringing projects to life safely, on time, and within budget. You’ll have the opportunity to travel for up to two weeks at a time, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to mission-critical renewable energy infrastructure.

What You’ll Do:
• Lead the planning and technical execution of multiple C&I solar projects across California and Arizona.
• Coordinate with crossfunctional teams, subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors to ensure alignment across preconstruction, procurement, construction, and closeout phases.
• Conduct system takeoffs, and material/equipment planning to support execution readiness.
• Support bidding, contract administration, and subcontractor management activities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, state, and local building codes—as well as Solar Gain’s safety and quality standards.
• Oversee scheduling, delivery, and inventory management of key project materials and electrical/mechanical components.
• Review project plans and submittals to ensure constructability and code compliance, identifying and resolving technical issues proactively.
• Maintain detailed project documentation including RFIs, change orders, commissioning reports, and weekly status updates.
• Support construction monitoring and field inspections to verify quality standards and adherence to design specifications.
• Work closely with the commissioning team to facilitate system testing, performance verification, and punchlist resolution.
• Assist in postconstruction activities including customer walkthroughs, documentation handoffs, and project closeout deliverables.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement across project teams.

What You’ll Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience managing or supporting solar PV projects—C&I, utilityscale, or EPCrelated preferred.
• Knowledge of solar energy systems, electrical and structural principles, construction methodologies, and site logistics.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation, permitting processes, and construction safety protocols.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project or Smartsheet), and digital reporting platforms.
• Strong organizational and timemanagement skills—able to manage multiple active project sites and priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
• Positive, professional demeanor with the ability to accept feedback and adapt to evolving project needs.
• Willingness to travel frequently to job sites throughout California and Arizona.
