Our client, a forward-thinking energy company dedicated to sustainable solutions, is seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Analyst to join their growing team in Des Moines, Iowa, US . This role is instrumental in evaluating and developing new renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and energy storage. You will perform detailed market analysis, financial modeling, and technical assessments to identify viable opportunities and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical background and a passion for clean energy.
Responsibilities: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis for renewable energy opportunities across various regions. Develop complex financial models to assess the economic viability and profitability of potential projects. Evaluate the technical feasibility and performance of renewable energy technologies. Perform site assessments and due diligence for new project development. Analyze regulatory frameworks, incentives, and market policies impacting renewable energy deployment. Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders. Collaborate with project development teams, legal counsel, and financial partners. Monitor the performance of existing renewable energy assets and identify optimization opportunities. Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the renewable energy sector. Support business development activities and contribute to the strategic planning of the company's renewable energy portfolio.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field. 5-7 years of experience in energy analysis, project finance, or renewable energy development. Proven expertise in financial modeling, including DCF analysis, IRR, and NPV calculations, specifically for energy projects. Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar PV, wind, battery storage) and market dynamics. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Python, R). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly. Familiarity with regulatory and policy landscapes for renewable energy. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment in Des Moines, Iowa, US . Experience with GIS or other site selection tools is a plus.
