Our client, a forward-thinking architectural firm, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Architectural Designer with a specialization in sustainable practices. This role is integral to conceptualizing and developing innovative, environmentally conscious building designs. The position offers a hybrid work model, combining the flexibility of remote work with essential in-office collaboration at their studio in Boise, Idaho, US . The ideal candidate will possess a strong design sensibility, a deep commitment to sustainability, and a proven ability to lead design projects from initial concept through to construction documentation.
Responsibilities: Lead the conceptual design process for new architectural projects, with a focus on sustainable materials, energy efficiency, and low environmental impact. Develop detailed architectural drawings, models, and presentations using industry-standard software. Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and translate it into functional and aesthetically pleasing designs. Coordinate with engineering consultants (structural, mechanical, electrical) to ensure integrated and sustainable design solutions. Research and specify sustainable building materials, technologies, and systems. Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL). Prepare construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and details. Oversee the design review process and respond to client and consultant feedback. Mentor junior designers and contribute to the development of design standards and best practices. Stay current with advancements in sustainable architecture and design innovation. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution. Professional Architect (RA) license is required. Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural design, with a significant portfolio demonstrating expertise in sustainable design. Proficiency in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong understanding of sustainable design principles, green building materials, and energy modeling. LEED AP certification is highly preferred. Excellent design, visualization, and communication skills. Experience in managing design projects and coordinating with consultants. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, demonstrating strong remote collaboration skills. A passion for creating innovative and environmentally responsible architecture.
