Green Valley Transportation is hiring a Safety & Compliance Coordinator in Knoxville, TN. This role involves ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, managing permits, monitoring driver files, conducting safety audits, and assisting in recruiting and onboarding drivers. Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Safety & Compliance Coordinator to join our transportation team. This role is responsible for ensuring company compliance with DOT regulations, managing trucking permits, driver and equipment files, supporting driver safety programs, and assisting with recruiting qualified drivers as well as on-boarding new hires in our orientation process.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations
• Manage trucking permits, registrations, and licensing requirements
• Monitor driver qualification files, logs, and safety records
• Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed
• Coordinate drug/alcohol testing programs and safety training
• Assist with recruiting, screening, and onboarding qualified drivers
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for inspections
• Stay up to date on industry regulations and compliance changes
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in safety management within transportation sectors.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation law, EPA guidelines, and occupational health best practices.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to analyze root causes of incidents effectively.
• Ability to conduct thorough investigations using root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues.
• Exceptional communication skills for delivering training sessions and collaborating across training platforms using electronic messages and bulletins .

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with ELD systems and driver logs
• Familiarity with safety audit procedures
• CDL or experience working closely with CDL drivers is a plus
