SOLAR ENGINEER

Sun Group of Companies is hiring a Solar Engineer in Manila, Philippines. Responsibilities include leading electrical engineering projects, designing solar PV systems, performing load calculations, and overseeing site works. Candidates should be licensed Electrical Engineers with at least 3 years in renewable energy or 5 years in construction. Proficiency in design software and knowledge of the Philippine Electrical Code is required. This is a full-time, in-person position.
Major Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning, design, and implementation of electrical engineering projects to meet client requirements and business objectives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Design the electrical system for a solar PV project, including solar arrays, inverters, transformers, and interconnection to the grid.
• Perform electrical load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection.
• Develop single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and other electrical engineering drawings.
• Make a project Bill of Quantity.
• Coordinate with utility companies to ensure compliance with interconnection requirements.
• Prepare concept drawings, technical criteria, specifications, and contract schedule as reference to the EPC contract execution;
• Oversee Site Works to ensure works are performed in accordance with the Contract;
• Conduct site inspections, monitor progress, and address any technical issues that arise during project execution.
• Prepare detailed reports, technical documentation, and presentations to communicate project status and outcomes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance project delivery.
• Facilitate the conduct of Factory Acceptance, Site Acceptance Test, Pre-Energization Test, and Testing and Commissioning.
• Develop operation and maintenance procedures for the electrical components.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering team members
• Stay informed on the latest solar PV technology, electrical codes, and safety standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• License Electrical Engineer
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the Renewable Energy Industry (Solar Energy) or at least 5 years of experience as Electrical engineer in the construction industry.
• Has managed and completed multiple rooftop and utility-scale Solar Projects.
• Proficiency in electrical system design.
• Knowledge of the Philippine Electrical Code & Standards.
• Knowledge of solar PV system components, installation practices, and safety requirements.
• With a background in electrical power systems, grid integration, and control systems.
• Proficient in engineering software like AutoCAD, PVSyst, and project management tools.
• Familiarity with EPC project execution
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Team player with mentor capabilities
• Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willing to be assigned in Manila (Head Office) & Conduct site visit as instructed.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php45,000.00 - Php55,000.00 per month
