About the position
The SIMAP Program Coordinator at the UNH Sustainability Institute is responsible for providing comprehensive support for the Sustainability Indicators Management and Analysis Platform (SIMAP), a tool designed to help organizations track and manage their carbon and nitrogen footprints. This role involves customer support, technical documentation, outreach, and collaboration with external partners, ensuring the platform remains effective and up-to-date. The coordinator will also engage in research and best practices in carbon accounting to enhance the platform's offerings and support educational initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day user support for SIMAP, responding to inquiries within 24-48 hours and holding weekly office hours.

• Manage SIMAP administrative and outreach support, including tracking payments, generating reports, and updating user documentation.

• Coordinate and implement annual SIMAP updates, conducting research and testing new emission factors and functionalities.

• Support training and educational initiatives related to SIMAP, including answering questions from clients and creating presentations for various venues.
,
• Participate in regular staff meetings and contribute to strategic planning and program evaluation.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

• Minimum of 2 years of professional or research experience related to organizational carbon accounting, reporting, and reductions.

• Strong understanding of sustainability principles, particularly the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

• Proficiency in carbon accounting principles and familiarity with GHG Protocol standards.
,
• Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated quantitative analysis skills, particularly with MS Excel.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
Nice-to-haves
• Interest in mentoring students.

• Experience as a teaching assistant or in teaching roles.

• Research skills and experience in carbon accounting or sustainability.

• Experience and skill in delivering oral presentations.
