The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for multiple research positions within its research group, including one Research Fellow and three fully funded PhD student positions. These roles are based at the Suzhou Research Institute and focus on advancing research in green building and urban sustainability.
Research Fellow Position
– Start Date: August 2025
– Initial appointment of one year, renewable for up to three years based on performance and career objectives
– Research focus: optimizing building façade designs to address climate change

Requirements
– Ph.D. in Architecture, Data Analysis, or a related field
– Expertise in building façade optimization, green building carbon emission analysis, or dynamic photovoltaic energy simulation
– Preferred skills in programming, embedded systems development, data analysis & visualization, or mechanical design
– Strong time management, multitasking skills, and ability to work independently
Fully Funded PhD Positions
– Three positions available
– Candidates are encouraged to propose their own research ideas within (but not limited to) the following areas:
• Assessing and mitigating the impacts of climate change on human well-being
• Optimizing building façade design in response to climate change
• Developing generative design tools for urban sustainability
Eligibility & Skills
– Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Planning, Geography, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
– Familiarity with optimization algorithms
– Knowledge of urban climate, generative AI, or green building design
– Experience with spatial analysis
– Proficiency in statistical and programming tools such as Python, MATLAB, or R
– Strong time management and multitasking abilities
– High motivation and capacity for independent work
