Job Description

The New Jersey Conservation Foundation is hiring a full-time Regional Manager for South Jersey to oversee land preservation and advocacy in the Pinelands and Delaware Bay shore. Key responsibilities include engaging with stakeholders, managing land acquisitions, and promoting outdoor community connections. Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and familiarity with the South Jersey region. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
About the position

New Jersey Conservation Foundation is seeking a full-time staff member to manage land preservation, public policy, and advocacy efforts in the Pinelands, Delaware Bay shore, and South Jersey region, including Cape May, Cumberland, and Salem Counties. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preserving forested and open lands, farmland, and waterways through acquisition and advocacy for policies related to land preservation. This position requires a proactive approach to engage with various stakeholders, including landowners, federal, state, and private partners, as well as funding sources. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups. Familiarity with the region and its communities is essential, along with a broad knowledge of natural and agricultural resource issues. The ideal candidate will have a passion for connecting people with the outdoors and will demonstrate excellent communication skills, including public speaking experience. The ability to work independently while also being an effective part of the statewide team is critical for success in this role. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent training is preferred, and proficiency with government funding programs for land preservation is a plus.
