Piper Sandler USA is seeking a Public Finance Investment Banking Intern for its Hospitality team in Phoenix, AZ. Join Piper Sandler as a Public Finance Investment Banking Intern supporting the Hospitality team with financial modeling and transaction support in Phoenix, AZ.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:
• Developing comprehensive and dynamic quantitative financial models to structure and optimize public, public-private, and private transactions
• Preparing presentations and RFP/RFQ responses for proposals and new business development
• Preparing marketing materials for conventional debt and equity capital raising processes
• Analyzing client capital structure, debt capacity, and credit profile; researching issuer financial information using public and internal resources
• Monitoring and tracking credit rating agency activities and maintaining a database of relevant credit reports
• Gathering and maintaining data and research on hospitality industry trends, supply and demand predictions, and capital markets
• Interacting with internal and external financing team members to develop, execute, and close transactions
• Assisting in preparation of bond documents including credit presentations, offering memorandums, pricing materials, financing and legal documents, and closing instructions

About You

The company is looking for:
• Minimum B.S. or B.A. with major(s) in finance, real estate, hospitality, business, or related fields preferred
• 0-2 years of experience preferred; experience in hospitality, real estate investment and underwriting, hospitality finance and underwriting, or investment banking is a plus
• Highly motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with intellectual curiosity, integrity, and eagerness to learn
• Ability to multi-task in a deadline-sensitive environment with strong attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and project management skills with ability to collaborate effectively and present ideas clearly
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other computer skills; working knowledge of DBC Finance preferred but not required
• Team-oriented yet able to work independently to contribute to strategic initiatives

• Hourly pay range of $25-30, dependent on experience, location, and other factors
