Job Description

Emirates Nature-WWF is seeking a Project Manager for Marine Conservation in Dubai. The role involves leading project implementation for coastal ecosystem conservation, including project planning, stakeholder management, team leadership, and budget oversight. Candidates should have over 5 years of project management experience and knowledge of marine ecosystems. The position is full-time and requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including government and community partners.

Reports to: Head – Programme Delivery
Job Summary

The successful incumbent will lead and ensure the successful implementation of high-impact project(s) for Emirates Nature-WWF, catalyzing actions towards coastal ecosystem conservation in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Planning & Initiation:
• Develop project funding proposals
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and conservation benefits
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource needs, and budgets
• Communication & Stakeholder Management:
• Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
• Develop stakeholder engagement plans and facilitate meetings, site visits, workshops, and presentations
• Leadership & Team Management:
• Effectively manage project team members and consultants
• Manage third-party vendors and collaborate with the Legal team on contract preparation
• Budget, Resource, and Risk Management:
• Prepare and monitor project budgets
• Assess resourcing requirements and manage resource planning and deployment
• Proactively identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies
• Monitoring, Control, Evaluation, and Reporting:
• Oversee project execution and ensure alignment with contractual obligations
• Conduct project evaluations at close-out and document lessons learned

Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Project Management or a related field
• Proven experience in all facets of project management, including planning, funding proposal development, monitoring, and reporting
• Understanding of marine and coastal ecosystems and their protection and restoration
• Experience leading teams toward shared visions and achieving project objectives
Working Relationships
• Internal: Works with all Units of Emirates Nature-WWF, Senior Management, and Leadership
• External: Works with Donors, Partners, Government, Local Authorities, Community Stakeholders, Private Sector, Academic Institutions, Third-party Consultants, and Service Providers
