The Incubator Programs Coordinator will play a critical role in developing and implementing programs at the Swift Factory in North Hartford, a North Hartford Partnership program. This position will coordinate climate-resilience planning support, design and manage workforce development programs focused on green jobs, and provide comprehensive business tenant support, including workshops and technical assistance. The ideal candidate will be passionate about environmental justice, community development, and economic empowerment in underserved communities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Climate Resilience Planning Support (30%) Support the implementation of climate resilience strategies and action plans developed during the feasibility study phase across all three hub locations Coordinate with local emergency management agencies, environmental organizations, and community stakeholders to ensure hubs are prepared for climate-related emergencies Develop and maintain resource databases for community members on climate preparedness, energy efficiency, and clean energy access Organize community education sessions on climate risks, extreme weather preparedness, and sustainable living practices Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of resilience programs and provide regular reports to leadership and partners Serve as a liaison between community residents and technical experts during climate assessment and planning activities Workforce Development Program Development and Coordination (40%) Design, develop, and implement green jobs workforce training programs aligned with regional climate and clean energy priorities Establish partnerships with training providers, community colleges, trade schools, and industry employers in renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable construction, and environmental services Recruit and support participants from environmental justice communities, with particular focus on unemployed and underemployed residents Assist in the development of curricula and coordinate training sessions on topics including solar installation, weatherization, HVAC systems, green building practices, and environmental remediation Facilitate job placement services, including resume development, interview preparation, and employer connections Track participant outcomes, including training completion rates, certification attainment, job placement, and wage progression Secure and manage workforce development grants and contracts; prepare reports for funders Business Tenant Support and Workshops (30%) Provide comprehensive referrals for technical assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs operating at Swift Organize regular workshop series on business fundamentals, including business planning, financial management, marketing, legal compliance, and accessing capital Coordinate specialized workshops on green business practices, sustainable supply chains, and climate-resilient business operations Connect business tenants with financing opportunities, business development resources, and contracting opportunities in the clean energy sector Facilitate peer learning and networking opportunities among hub businesses and the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem Track business outcomes, including revenue growth, job creation, and sustainability metrics REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and centering the voices of environmental justice communities Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Urban Planning, Community Development, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, or related field OR relevant experience Minimum 3-5 years of experience in program coordination, workforce development, or business technical assistance Demonstrated knowledge of climate resilience, clean energy, and environmental justice issues Experience developing and delivering training programs and workshops for diverse audiences Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with community residents, business owners, government officials, and organizational partners Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and database management systems Valid driver's license and ability to travel for professional development opportunities PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with green jobs training programs, renewable energy sector, or sustainable building practices Background in small business development, entrepreneurship support, or business incubation Knowledge of Connecticut climate policies, clean energy incentives, and workforce development infrastructure Familiarity with grant implementation and management Established relationships with community organizations, workforce development agencies, or business support entities in CT cities and towns COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
