Job Description
The Wildlife Trust of India is seeking a Programme Officer for International Treaties and Conventions in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Candidates should have a Master's degree in wildlife or policy advocacy, with over 3 years of experience in wildlife conservation or policy. Responsibilities include reviewing government policies, liaising with agencies for international conventions, providing strategic advice, and developing fundraising proposals. Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi are required.

Education- Masters degree in any Wildlife field or Policy advocacy field.
Experience - 3+ years experience working in the field of wildlife conservation or wildlife policy.
Preferred expertise- We are looking for candidates experienced working with Government stakeholders - state and national as well as international bodies. Those with suitable knowledge and or experience on environment / wildlife Conference of Parties (CoP) like CITES, CMS, CBD etc will also be preferred. Along with either one of the above two preferences, the candidates will also need to have excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written) and Hindi (verbal), with experience in writing reports, articles and fundraising proposals for work of this nature.
Responsibilities
• Review the conservation/development policies and priorities of Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change or other Government agencies that are key for wildlife and forest conservation and align them into WTI’s conservation agenda.
• Make plans and liaise with relevant agencies for WTI’s engagement on major International conventions and treaties (CITES, CBD, CMS, WHC, etc) for biodiversity and wildlife conservation.
• Provide strategic advice and facilitate the development of WTI’s policy positions on key conservation issues in India.
• Liaise and co-ordinate with relevant external agencies/ partners in India to drive policy change for wildlife conservation.
• Make plan for WTI engagement at key governmental interventions/platforms to influence policy outcomes on wildlife conservation.
• Plan and conduct events (workshops, meetings, dialogues, seminars, conferences) with Policy makers and other key stakeholders addressing policy issues on wildlife conservation.
• Develop proposal/concepts for fundraising for policy support and institution.
