Pinnacle Climate Technologies is seeking a Product Engineer to manage the product development lifecycle using the Stage-Gate process. Responsibilities include designing and testing products, maintaining 3D models and BOMs, and providing engineering support. The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 5-7 years of experience, with proficiency in SolidWorks and ERP systems. This position is located in Sauk Rapids, MN, and does not offer relocation.

Position Description

The role involves managing the entire lifecycle of product development using the Pinnacle Climate Stage-Gate process, from initial concept to production. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining 3D product models and detailed Bills of Materials (BOM), while providing ongoing engineering support for product enhancements. Engage with distributors and customers to gather feedback on product performance and provide support for Manufacturing Operations internally as well as supplier issues that impact quality and productivity.

Primary Responsibilities of the Product Engineer
• Designs, develops, and tests products, and manages their lifecycle from concept to end of life through Pinnacle Climate's Stage-Gate process.
• Ensure products meet customer needs, are produced efficiently, and are of high quality.
• Develop and maintain 3D product models and part drawings.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, such as design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
• Identify ways to save costs and understand the financial impact of design choices.
• Generate and maintain product Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Generate and maintain Manufacturing routings for in-house fabrication parts.
• Provide sustaining product engineering and manufacturing support, including product improvements such as Value-Add-Value-Engineering (VAVE) projects.
• Work with Quality Specialist and Customer Care Center personnel to resolve field problems with our products in a timely manner.
• Assist with troubleshooting and failure analysis in-house and possibly at customer locations.
• Interface with distributors and customers to gather information about product failures and identify solutions to fix them in manufacturing or Global Supply chain.
• Provide information and documentation as required in support of customer inquiries related to product specifications and third-party agency requirements.
• Support manufacturing processes and ensure product quality and performance through testing.
• Assist in securing agency listings and certifications for products.
• Work closely with purchasing in qualifying new vendors and supplier parts.
• Perform other duties and complete special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills of the Product Engineer
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-7 years of experience preferred in product development in a manufacturing environment.
• Highly proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Familiar with Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles
• Proficient in sheet metal design preferred.
• Experience with PDM and/or DDM product data management systems.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
• Detail-oriented and customer-focused.
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
