The City of Seattle is seeking a Procurement Strategic Advisor to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the city's goals of equity, inclusion, and sustainability. The role requires expert guidance for the procurement team, ensuring compliance with laws, identifying cost-saving opportunities, conducting market research, collaborating with stakeholders, and mentoring staff. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $80K–150K per year.

As a Procurement Strategic Advisor, you will play a key role in developing and implementing procurement strategies that support the city's goals and objectives. Develop and implement procurement strategies: The Procurement Strategic Advisor will be responsible for creating and executing procurement strategies that align with the city's overall goals and objectives.

Support city's mission: This role will play a key part in advancing the city's mission of building an equitable, inclusive, and sustainable community through strategic procurement.

Provide expert guidance: The Procurement Strategic Advisor will be a highly-skilled and experienced professional who will offer expert guidance and advice to the procurement team.

Ensure compliance: It will be the responsibility of the Procurement Strategic Advisor to ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

Identify cost-saving opportunities: This role will be responsible for identifying potential ways to reduce costs and increase efficiency in the procurement process.

Conduct market research: The Procurement Strategic Advisor will be expected to conduct market research and analyze trends to inform procurement decisions.

Collaborate with stakeholders: The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders, including city departments, vendors, and community members, to ensure that procurement processes are inclusive and meet the needs of all parties involved.

Monitor performance: The Procurement Strategic Advisor will monitor and evaluate the performance of procurement activities and make recommendations for improvements as needed.

Train and mentor staff: This role will involve training and mentoring procurement staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support the city's procurement goals.

Stay up-to-date with industry developments: It will be the responsibility of the Procurement Strategic Advisor to stay informed about changes and advancements in the procurement field and make recommendations for incorporating them into the city's procurement processes.
