Principal Engineer, Climate & Energy

Toyota is seeking a Principal Engineer, Climate & Energy in Plano, TX, to lead climate and utility regulatory analysis impacting their technologies. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with various groups in the US and Japan, advocacy for regulations supporting battery and grid services, and representation in trade associations. The position offers a salary range of $110K–$156K per year and is full-time.
Lead/conduct/manage climate, electricity, and utility regulatory analysis to determine the impact on Toyota’s technologies and businesses. Conduct extensive cross-functional engagement with Toyota regulatory, sustainability, product, environmental, and business development groups in the US and Japan to understand and influence Toyota’s climate, electrification, carbon reduction, and regulatory strategies. Lead advocacy and influencing/shaping of utility, battery lifecycle and end of life, and other regulations to align with and support Toyota’s battery and grid services objectives. Represent Toyota in climate, utility, and automotive trade associations and technical working groups, and with federal/state agencies to effectively communicate and advocate for Toyota’s positions and preferred outcomes.
