Job Description
BioUrja Renewables, LLC is seeking a Powerhouse Utility in Peoria, IL. The role involves supporting the Utilities Department by performing tasks such as unloading trucks, cleaning, operating equipment, and assisting with maintenance. Responsibilities include training new employees, conducting environmental verifications, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Strong mechanical skills and the ability to work shifts are required. This position is not remote and requires physical presence at the facility.

The Powerhouse Utility will be responsible for completing assigned duties within the Utilities Department. This may include but is not limited to unloading trucks, retrieving samples, cleaning, preparing equipment for maintenance, reporting process measurements, and other duties as assigned. The role requires assisting the Stillhouse/Powerhouse Operator I and ensuring department and shift objectives are accomplished. Daily responsibilities include performing clean-up tasks, retrieving samples from the field, assisting with lockouts on assigned equipment, basic oil and greasing of equipment, operating mechanized equipment, training new employees, performing environmental verifications, offloading trucks, restocking the department, taking equipment readings, and completing documentation to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations. The Powerhouse Utility must support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legal requirements, and inform supervisors of any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately. The position requires strong safety values, the ability to work shifts, and the capability to work both individually and in a team environment. Basic mechanical skills and the ability to use hand tools are essential, along with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. The employee must also understand and comply with plant GMP and personnel practice requirements. Physical and mental requirements include the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and perform various physical tasks such as walking, climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces or elevated heights. Regular attendance and punctuality are required, and the company expects all employees to observe and fulfill safety responsibilities as outlined in workplace safety training.
Responsibilities

• Perform daily and assigned clean up responsibilities and document as needed.

• Offload trucks.

• Take readings from equipment as required and document per department policy.

• Complete all required documentation to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.

• Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legal requirements.

• Inform supervisor and affected personnel immediately of any hazards, unsafe equipment and/or acts.

• Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process plans.

• Other similar duties as assigned.
