The Postdoctoral Associate position at Florida International University's Institute of Environment focuses on advancing coastal urban sustainability through research and collaboration. The role involves developing integrative methods for assessing and modeling coastal adaptation actions, contributing to various NOAA and NSF-funded projects, and working with an interdisciplinary team to address urban sustainability challenges in Southeast Florida.

Responsibilities
• Develop, integrate, and synthesize social, ecological, and infrastructure data for multisectoral analyses of sustainability and resilience interventions.

• Monitor and understand the impact of flooding and heat in Miami and Southeast Florida through urban ecosystem studies.

• Develop land use or other modeling outputs to evaluate alternative scenarios under future conditions.

• Collaborate with local practitioners and academic scientists to support decision-making around coastal urban sustainability and resilience.

Requirements
• PhD in geoscience, hydrology, urban planning, or environmental engineering.

• Interdisciplinary background preferred.

• Strong proficiency in statistical and computational modeling.
