Pollution Control Officer

GJH SERCONS, INC. is hiring a Pollution Control Officer in Silang, Cavite. The role involves ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety guidelines, supervising operations related to waste management, monitoring environmental parameters, and preparing reports. Candidates must be licensed Chemical Engineers or Chemists with at least 5 years of experience in pollution control and environmental management, along with relevant certifications. This is a full-time position.
• *JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing company's employee safety at work. Their main duty is to ensure that the company complies and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines.
• *WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:**
• Supervise the Operation: Scrubber/Boiler/Waster
• Water/Hazardous Waste Storage
• Checks the scrubber vent smoke discharge.
• Checks the water quality of scrubber overflow.
• Checks the boiler smokestack discharge.
• Checks and monitor the water quality of wwtp water discharge.
• Monitors and check the condition of all hazardous waste in the storage.
• Monitors the generation of hazardous waste.
• Monitors the volume of water discharge in the canal.
• Monitors the any smoke leak in the process.
• Communicates to production any abnormalities encountered in the smokestack of boiler and scrubber.
• Monitors the solid waste disposal.
• Monitor Operation Parameters
• Monitors of all field parameters.
• Monitors all equipment performance.
• Observes any changes in the operation.
• Monitors rotameter flow and adjust accordingly.
• Discharges ESP, cyclone to acid waste drums.
• Bring hourly product sample to laboratory (bottom, after aging & finish good) during plant operation.
• Monitors boiler, operation and refill of industrial salt, and boiler mate.
• Assists employees if there is a necessary document needed.
• Toolbox meeting.
• Ensures timely preparation of reports and documents.
• Ensures that all records of tools and equipment are properly managed.
• Ensures Submission of mandatory reports to the government on time.
• *WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
• Must be graduate of Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Must be licensed Chemical Engineer and/or Chemist
• Basic knowledge in manufacturing process/ warehousing process of site and environmental laws
• At least 5 years of experience as PCO
• 2 years of experience in environmental management role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector
• Thorough understanding of environmental regulations, policies, and best practices
• Must have 40 hours BOSH training or certificate and Category B - PCO
• Proficiency in environmental monitoring and reporting tools and software
