Planning Support Coordinator

Octopus Energy is seeking a Planning Support Coordinator in Manchester, UK. The role involves submitting planning applications, tracking progress, coordinating with councils, and improving planning functions. What you'll do
• Submit planning permission applications on behalf of customers having heat pumps installed with us.
• Track the progress of applications and report back on approvals & updates.
• Coordinate RFIs to ensure information is provided to councils & customers as and when needed.
• Complete & submit supporting documentation required for planning approvals.
• Act as a liaison between local councils & planning authorities and our Install Support team to share knowledge and advise on best practises.
• Undertake projects to deliver service improvements to the planning function when necessary.
• Support a wider team of AutoCAD & planning specialists with submissions across the whole department.What you'll need
• A strong interest in UK planning policy & experience putting this into practical application submissions.
• To be highly organised and agile - capable of taking on multiple applications and projects at one time (we are growing quickly!).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• To be a starter-finisher, & a go-getter, with a drive to seek out improvements and deliver them.
• To be a team player and relationship builder. The ability to build great working relationships with people across cultures and perspectives
• To be positive and proactive, and energised by working in a fast-paced environment characterised by constant change. You think creatively and logically to react to changes in strategy.
• You will be analytical, seeking out data and using this to support decisions to improve our planning function.
• Energy industry experience is desirable but by no means essential! You’ll quickly pick up what you need to know.
• AutoCAD experience is desirable but not essential.Why else you'll love it here
