Job Description

Young Nautilus is seeking a part-time Nature Educator in Singapore to facilitate enrichment programs focused on science, biodiversity, and conservation. The role involves teaching students through nature walks and lab-based activities, emphasizing experiential learning and engaging communication. Candidates should have a passion for nature and education, with qualifications ranging from A’ levels to undergraduate students. The position requires weekend availability and is not remote.

Young Nautilus provides enrichment programmes such as intertidal walks and nature walks that focuses on science, biodiversity and conservation (e.g. places such as Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserves, Changi Intertidal, and Coney Island). In addition, we have lab programmes such as Squid Dissections, and assembly programmes with live marine animals.

Qualifications* - A’ levels / Diploma / Undergraduate Student/ Fresh Graduates
• Other requirements
• - Highly motivated individual with passion for science, nature and biodiversity.
- Interest in teaching about Singapore’s biodiversity
- Good communication, presentation skills and public speaking
• Purpose of Job
• - To provide professional and engaging education in science and biodiversity to students, inspiring and igniting an interest and passion for the natural environment.
- To provide an experiential learning experience for students that they would otherwise be unable to learn from the classroom.
- To focus on MOE’s pedagogy style such as Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) and the schools’ curriculum.
• Duties
• - To facilitate and teach enrichment programmes (such as nature walks and skit programmes) for students
- To conduct lab-based classroom programmes (such as dissections) for students
- To prepare materials and logistics required for programmes
- To communicate with participants and facilitators for programmes’ operation

Pay: $600.00 - $900.00 per month
