Job Description

Gulf Aquaculture is hiring a Marine Fish Hatchery Assistant Manager in Umm Al Quwain, UAE. The role involves managing hatchery operations, ensuring optimal breeding and water quality, implementing biosecurity measures, and training staff. Candidates should have a degree in Aquaculture or a related field, with at least 10 years of hatchery experience. The position requires strong leadership skills and knowledge of sustainable aquaculture practices. Salary ranges from AED 8K to AED 12K per month.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hatchery Assistant Manager to join our fish hatchery.
The ideal candidate will ensure optimal breeding, hatching and early-stage fish development while maintaining high standards of sustainability and productivity.

•Manage and supervise hatchery operations including breeding spawning and larval rearing processes.
•Monitor water quality parameters and maintain hatchery equipment and facilities to ensure optimal conditions for fish fry production.
•Implement biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks and maintain the health of fish stocks.
•Train and lead hatchery staff, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols.
•Maintain accurate records of hatchery activities, production data, and inventory levels.
•Collaborate with the aquaculture team to improve hatchery performance and implement
innovative breeding techniques.
•Ensure compliance with local regulations and environmental standards related to fish farming
•Maintain accurate records and submit weekly reports related to hatching rates, mortality and environmental conditions.
•Train and supervise hatchery staff to promote safe and efficient work practices.
•Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues promptly to minimize downtime.
•Collaborate with the Hatchery Manager to develop and improve hatchery protocols and strategies.

•Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Fisheries Science or a related field.
•Minimum 10 years hatchery experience.
•Previous experience in recirculating aquaculture system (RAS).
•Previous experience in producing fry of local species such as - Grouper, Red Snapper, Shaari, Cobia would be highly advantageous.
•Proven experience in fish hatchery supervisory or management role.
•Strong knowledge of fish breeding, larval rearing, and water quality management.
•Ability to lead a team, communicate effectively, and solve problems proactively.
•Familiarity with biosecurity practices and disease management in aquaculture.
•Willingness to work in a hands-on role within the hatchery environment.
•Commitment to sustainable aquaculture practices and environmentally responsible operations.
•Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
