Job Description

Rare is seeking a Director for Science and Marine Governance in Glastonbury, CT. This leadership role involves overseeing the science team, managing budgets, and representing Rare in fisheries. The position requires expertise in marine spatial design and fisheries program design, along with thought leadership through research and presentations. The Director will also develop a research agenda and support project proposals.

We are looking for a Director for Science and Marine Governance to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversight of the science team, including budgeting and personnel management.
• Expertise in marine spatial design and fisheries program design.
• Representation of Rare in national and local level fisheries space.
• Thought leadership through publishing research findings and presenting at conferences.

The Director will also create and execute a research agenda, support technical aspects of project proposals, and lead the Applied Science Community of Practice.
