KSL Capital Partners is offering a 10-week MBA Sustainable Finance Summer Internship in Denver, CO for Summer 2025. The intern will engage in sustainability initiatives, data analytics, research, and communication efforts related to finance and real estate. Candidates should be MBA students with strong analytical skills and an interest in sustainability and private equity. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Company Overview:
KSL Capital Partners is a private equity firm focused on travel and leisure businesses, with over $21 billion in capital under management. Our portfolio spans globally recognized resorts, hotels, marinas, ski areas, and other travel and leisure-based businesses. The firm manages both credit and equity investments and is committed to integrating sustainability as a value creation and risk mitigation tool across its investments.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated MBA candidate to join the KSL team for 10 weeks during Summer 2025. This role will provide hands-on experience at the intersection of sustainability, finance, and real estate. The intern will support sustainability initiatives across data analytics, research, and communications, contributing to firm-wide strategy and investor reporting. The role will report to the Senior Sustainability Manager, who is part of the Legal and Compliance team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Analytics & Reporting
• Analyze sustainability performance across portfolio companies using quantitative tools and industry benchmarks.
• Develop reporting insights to inform value creation, investor reporting, and portfolio company engagement.
• Contribute to climate- and energy-related data analysis, including portfolio company and firm-level emissions
• Assess and improve sustainability data visualization tools used across KSL and its portfolio.

2. Research
• Identify and evaluate tools, frameworks, and market trends to strengthen KSL’s sustainability strategy and value creation efforts.
• Conduct research on emerging regulations relevant to diligence and ownership
• Support the development of internal sustainability guidelines and best practices

3. Communications & Document Preparation
• Collaborate with the Investor Relations and Sustainability teams to refine KSL’s sustainability narrative and data storytelling.
• Assist in the development of investor-facing materials, including content for the annual investor meeting

Qualifications:
MBA candidate (Class of 2026) with a strong interest in private equity, real assets, and sustainability integration. MBA candidates pursuing dual environmental or policy degrees will be strongly considered.
• Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills; comfortable working with data sets and drawing business-relevant insights.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to operate effectively across teams.

Preferred Background:
• Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, real estate investment, management consulting, or corporate finance.
• Exposure to sustainability strategy or operational value creation frameworks—especially in real assets—is a plus.
• Familiarity with environmental data (e.g., GHG emissions, energy intensity) or sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., SASB, EDCI, etc.) is beneficial but not required.
