KCTCS is hiring an Instructor for Environmental Science Technology/Natural Sciences at Bluegrass Community & Technical College in Lexington, KY. The role involves teaching courses, advising students, and developing educational materials. Candidates need a Master's degree in Environmental Science or a related field. Job Summary

Teaches primarily Environmental Science to students, advises students, maintains office hours, provides internal service to the college as assigned, provides external service as a representative of the college, pursues professional development, and provides leadership where appropriate.

Job Duties:

1. Teach transferable general Ecology and Hydrology lectures and laboratories.
2. Teach technical Environmental Science lectures and laboratories.
3. Develop syllabi, course materials, exams, etc.
4. Order materials, set up/break down labs, and maintain the EST lab and instruments.
5. Use technology in lectures, laboratories, and online to enhance student learning.
6. Work closely with fellow EST and Natural Sciences faculty.
7. Assist adjunct instructors and substitute for absent instructors as needed.
8. Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
9. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
10. Participate in internal and external service within the college.
11. Engage in an appropriate level of professional development as a faculty member.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree or above in Environmental Science or closely related field.
• Or Master's degree or above in any subject with a minimum of 18 graduate hours completed in Environmental Science or closely related subject matter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience teaching at the college level.
• Qualification to teach general Geology, Biology, or Chemistry also preferred.
