PPM Solar is seeking a Solar Installer I in Indiana to enhance installation quality and technical expertise. The role involves troubleshooting, ensuring safety, and promoting clean energy adoption. Candidates should have strong communication skills, experience with solar systems, and comply with safety protocols. This full-time position offers a compensation range of $21-30 per hour based on experience and requires physical ability to perform various tasks.
PPM Solar is looking for a Solar Installer I to join our PPM Field Operations team and enhance our installation quality and technical expertise. This role requires exceptional troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities. Our Solar Installers promote clean energy adoption and customer satisfaction by ensuring high-quality installations, resolving technical issues, and maintaining safe work environments. Responsibilities
• Perform all responsibilities of a PPM Solar Installation Assistant and PPM Solar Technician with advanced proficiency (see alternate job posting for more information)
• Troubleshoot string, inverter, and PV system performance issues.
• Installed and troubleshoot energy storage systems and advanced DC circuits.
• Perform wire terminations and ensure NEC compliance.
• Manage quality control checks to ensure installation accuracy and compliance.
• Operate and manage ladder safety systems, including lift ladders.
• Ensure roof safety and enforce job site safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with clients, serving as a professional liaison.
• Conduct system performance analysis and identify ground faults.
• Understand and apply Ground Fault Protection principles.
• Ensure roof safety and manage on-site quality control.
• Provide clear and professional client communication as a liaison.
• Train team members on Tesla, Enphase, and battery storage systems.
• Manage assistants and technicians effectively.
• Prepare Raken reports and provide photos for documentation.
• Handle utility interconnection requirements and furnish necessary labels.
• Uphold company values and foster a positive team culture.
Qualifications
• Alignment with PPM Solar’s values and commitment to teamwork and quality.
• Experience in troubleshooting string and inverter issues.
• Skilled in wire termination and advanced electrical work.
• Ability to manage quality control processes effectively.
• Knowledge of ladder safety systems, including lift ladders.
• Strong communication skills for client interactions.
• Understanding of roof safety protocols and OSHA 10 certification.
• Familiarity with Tesla and Enphase systems through formal training.
• Knowledge of Ground Fault Protection principles.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs., work at heights, and handle various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving safety requirements.
Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $21-30 per hour, based on experience. This position is full-time (40 hours a week) and on-site in our Gainesville office. Compensation will be reassessed based on performance after the first 90 days. We provide a transparent pay scale based on experience and performance, reviewed every 90 days.
