Job Description

Serigraph is seeking an Injection Molding Technician 1 in West Bend, WI, for a 10-hour night shift (Sunday-Wednesday, 8:30pm-6:30am) with a $2 shift premium. Responsibilities include setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of injection molding presses, ensuring quality production, and optimizing machine performance. Candidates should have a high school diploma and experience in molding operations. The role requires problem-solving skills and adherence to safety practices.

Are you a detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for precision manufacturing? Serigraph is looking for an Injection Molding Technician 1 to ensure the efficient operation of our injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for setup, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance to support high-quality production. You’ll play a key role in optimizing machine performance, maintaining process parameters, and documenting data to drive continuous improvement. Injection Molding Technician Responsibilities -
• Set molds and maintain process parameters to ensure the consistent production of quality products.
• Analyze and resolve process issues by determining root causes.
• Complete all mold changeovers, including setting up and loading proper process parameters to achieve first-piece acceptance.
• Monitor production data charts (P-charts) to maximize uptime and help achieve production targets.
• Document all parameter changes in the process book.
• Work with the Team Leader to shift operators and inspectors as needed to optimize efficiency.
• Verify that all setups are completed using the verification checklist and ensure that FPA paperwork is up to date.
• Ensure all environmental practices and material handling policies are followed.
• Work overtime as needed, including weekends.
• Serve as a backup for production operators, running equipment or inspecting parts when necessary.
• Respond to and resolve production and equipment-related issues.
• Operate machines in the post-print area as needed to support production flow.
• Maintain process parameters within specified limits.
• Communicate press status with teams to ensure smooth startup and shutdown planning.
• Report equipment or tooling repairs and malfunctions to the appropriate support department.
• Perform basic mold preventive maintenance (PM) in-press and on the bench, preparing tools for shipment when necessary.
• Operate a forklift as required.
• Prepare materials for molding presses, including pulling resin from the warehouse.
• Assist with team member training as needed.
• Ensure quality and stop production to correct quality concerns. Inform management of products and/or processes that do not conform to requirements.
• Ensure all environmental practices and materials are handled and disposed of per appropriate procedures in your area.
• Support Serigraph current quality business system and understand use of SPECS, the Serigraph quality manual.

What we are looking for in an Injection Molding Technician -
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of equipment, tooling, and controls related to molding operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot molding-related process and equipment issues.
• Ability to interpret and understand job tickets.
• Knowledge of good departmental and company safety/housekeeping/PPE practices.
• Understand departmental procedures and policies.

Preferred Qualifications and Education of an Injection Molding Technician -
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a technician, with demonstrated skills in setting up and starting injection molding machines, troubleshooting, and mechanical operations.
• Experience with robotic and automated injection molding processes and systems.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma and statistical process control (SPC) tools.
• Training or experience in RJG methodology, Lean manufacturing concepts, and SPC data collection.
• Injection molding training and related seminars.
