Description:

Beacon Management Services is seeking an experienced Building Engineer for a residential condominium mid-rise in Midtown Atlanta. Experience in energy management, green building practices, or LEED certification is preferred but not required. Candidates should have expertise in managing mid-rise/high-rise buildings (10+ stories) and demonstrate thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other critical building systems.
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other critical systems which support the entire building.
• Candidate will establish, oversee and be accountable for emergency procedures, preventative maintenance plans, vendor contracts, direct reports, budgets, and oversight of general maintenance operations.
• Janitorial operations fall under this job description, including scheduling and quality control.

Requirements:

Building Engineer

Responsibilities
• Ensure a safe and secure building environment.
• Supervise, train, and lead maintenance staff.
• Establish and oversee emergency procedures, preventive maintenance plans, and vendor contracts.
• Manage janitorial operations, quality control, and maintenance scheduling.
• Assess repair needs, including determining professional assistance when required.
• Monitor and manage service contractors and building repairs.
• Maintain disaster preparedness and manage crisis responses.
• Perform maintenance and repairs in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, and HVAC systems.
• Develop and implement preventive/reactive maintenance schedules.
• Train staff in safety procedures and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and ensure a safe work environment.

Skills & Abilities
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Education & Experience
• High school diploma required; college education preferred.
• 8–10 years of experience in building trades and maintenance, with supervisory experience.
• Annual salary will range from $55K - $60K pending YOE and previous certifications/licensing.

Certificates & Licenses
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
• Certifications such as CPO, EPA Universal, or Electrical Journeyman are largely preferred.
