Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The position (K0230787): Interprets HIV lab test results to appropriately classify case morbidity records (CMRs) in accordance with surveillance criteria, including but not limited to, conducting Soundex matches, databases searches for previous HIV tests, conducting provider calls, consolidating electronic lab results and pushing those to existing CMRs or new CMRs, as appropriate, initiating new HIV cases to Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS) and Linkage to Care Coordinators (LTCC), and documenting all activity in EpiTrax and eHARS. Each of these activities must be done in a timely, complete and accurate manner.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Ensures data accuracy and quality, including but not limited to, deduplication of records, RIDR activities, Blackbox activities (including data packet submissions and processing output reports), verification phone calls, and correct documentation of all required reporting fields.
Conducts out of jurisdiction record searches as appropriate by corresponding, primarily through phone contact, with other jurisdictions, laboratories, physician offices, and field staff to obtain information on previous positives, determining which out of jurisdiction investigations need to be initiated to DIS, reviewing cases for closure, and documenting all related activity in EpiTrax and eHARS.

• Licensing & Certification:
• Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
• Minimum Qualifications:
• Four years of experience collecting, evaluating, studying, or reporting on statistical economic, fiscal/budget, legislative, or administrative data. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
• Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
• Proficient in SAS software programming
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Experience using analytical/critical thinking
• Efficient computer skills
• Able to analyze, collect, and interpret data
• Efficient in Excel spreadsheets
• Ability to perform qualitative analysis
• Experience with statistical software and health information management systems
