Technical Forest Services is hiring a Forestry Field Technician in Buderim, Australia. Job Title: Forestry Field Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and punctual Forestry Field Technician to join our team on the sunshine coast as a Field Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with various forestry activities and ensuring the safety of yourself and others. The ideal candidate should have excellent time management skills, the ability to work outdoors in all conditions, and thrive in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in the implementation of forestry projects.

- Conduct field surveys to assess forest health, tree growth rates, and potential pest or disease outbreaks.

- Collect samples of plant tissues for laboratory analysis.

- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during field operations.

- Maintain accurate records of work completed and provide regular progress reports to supervisors.

- Collaborate with other team members on various tasks as required.

Skills:

- Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient completion of assigned tasks within given deadlines.

- Strong physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

- Good communication skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately and report findings effectively.

Qualifications:

- High school completion or equivalent qualification.

- A current Class C driver's license.

- Additional certifications related to forestry or agriculture will be an advantage but not mandatory.

Desirable - Not compulsory but certainly viewed favourably:

- Demonstrated wildfire firefighting competency and/or previous experience in forest fire management.
