The Farm Manager position in Idaho focuses on overseeing agricultural operations, specifically in potato cultivation and other row crops across a substantial 35,000-acre family-owned farm. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing large-scale farming operations, particularly with potatoes, and will be responsible for ensuring optimal crop production and quality. This role requires a strong understanding of irrigation systems, crop management, and sustainable farming practices. The Farm Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will play a crucial role in the development of annual budgets for field and crop inputs, ensuring that all farming activities align with the company's goals for productivity and sustainability. In this position, the Farm Manager will be tasked with managing crop production to achieve the best possible yield and quality. This includes overseeing the cultivation of various crops such as alfalfa, beans, beets, potatoes, and corn. The manager will work closely with the Irrigation Foreman to ensure that irrigation systems are functioning effectively, providing timely and even water applications to the crops. Additionally, the Farm Manager will help formulate pre-season plans for all activities and applications for each individual field, continually evaluating yield, quality, and production costs to identify efficiencies and improvements that maximize crop revenues. The role also involves recruiting and supervising personnel to meet the operational goals of the farm. The ability to communicate in Spanish is considered a plus, enhancing the manager's ability to work with a diverse team. The position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $120,000, along with benefits, a vehicle, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
