Job Description
SSR Mining, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Specialist in Nevada to support environmental compliance at the Marigold Mine. Responsibilities include conducting environmental sampling, inspections, managing databases, preparing reports, and liaising with stakeholders. Candidates should have a relevant degree, three years of experience in the environmental/mining industry, and proficiency in software applications. The position offers a salary of $80K per year and is full-time.

With an industry-leading pipeline of projects, strong financial positioning, and talented employees, we look forward to our bright future!Job Description:General Objectives:Reporting to the Environmental Manager, this position will work with the Environmental team to support environmental compliance at the Marigold Mine. Key Areas of Responsibilities & Duties: The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:Conduct surface water, ground water, soil, air quality and other environmental samplingConduct environmental compliance inspections for materials management areas, waste & hazardous waste areas, chemical & petroleum storage areas, etc.Manage environmental database, water, waste, inspections, etc.Manage environmental documents and recordsConduct environmental trainingCoordinate and oversee environmental contractors and consultantsPrepare permit applicationsPrepare environmental compliance reportsLiaison with stakeholders and government officialsMinimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:An undergraduate degree from a recognized university required, engineering degree preferredMinimum of three (3) years of experience in the environmental/mining industry or equivalent requiredDemonstrated knowledge of environmental regulatory programs such as CAA, CWA, RCRAExperience interacting with regulatory officialsProficiency in standard computer software applications required, experience in GIS type applications preferredAbility to work in unsupervised environment requiredAbility to lift 50 lbs. requiredProven safety and environmental performance requiredExperience presenting in front of groups preferredAdditional Qualifications and Skill Requirements:Valid Driver LicenseSSR Mining Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
